Sharing two easy gluten free banana smoothie recipes that are perfect for a quick breakfast while providing a healthy start to your day!
I’m going to make a bold statement: smoothies are a underrated beverage. And, I have re-fallen in love with them over the past few months that we’ve been living without a cooktop.
I can only have an egg and sausage sandwich so many times in a row before I’m ready to pull my hair out. So, in a effort to bring a little excitement back to our breakfast, I started experimenting with smoothies. Now, if you haven’t figured it out by now, I am not a lover of cooking or baking. What does make me happy are things that are quick to make while also tasting delicious.
As one with celiac disease, finding food that checks both those boxes isn’t always the easiest.
Enter: smoothies.
I figured out the perfect base that provides a smooth finish while also being relatively healthy. The key is bananas (oh hey, potassium), greek yogurt (for the protein) and unsweetened almond milk (low in sugar). Then, all you have to do is start adding in whatever sounds good.
Today, I’m sharing two recipes, one a little more sweet and the other a little more tart.
If you’re craving chocolate, try the peanut butter cocoa version.
Or, if you’re wanting a more refreshing drink, add in some frozen berries. And, if you want to really up the nutrients, throw in a handful of kale or spinach. I promise the taste blends right into the berries.
