Simplicity is the name of the game for this year’s porch decor. That, and of course, all the rustic goodness we can pack in.
And if you’re looking for even more porch decor inspiration for this holiday season, look no further! We’re joining up with more than 30 bloggers to share all the inspo for achieving an amazing holiday front porch. Huge thanks to Amy at Atta Girl Says for hosting this hop!
The first staple in any holiday porch is the Tyvek house wrap, amiright?! It’s like our house is the present and we’ve wrapped it all up for Christmas. Anyone else want to join in on making this a new holiday trend?! 😛
All kidding aside, after nearly three years of living in a renovation zone, we’ve gotten pretty good at decorating and sprucing up a space, regardless of its finished-state. Who says half-finished porches (and interiors!) can’t be festive and pretty?
As I mentioned in our guest bedroom tour, I picked up a few garlands on clearance last year and I’ve had so. much. fun. decorating with them! There is just something so majestic, yet simple, about wrapping a railing or window in greenery. And now that the railings are painted white, the green has an extra pop!
I brought in some natural greenery by adding clippings from our tree out front. Best part? It doesn’t cost anything to go out and snag a few tree branches from your evergreen tree 🙂
The rocking chairs were cozied up with a few flannel throw pillows and a plaid blanket. While it’s a little too cold to actually sit on said chairs (not unless we bring out the ice fishing heater) adding pillows and a blanket to any space brings in so much cozy and makes everything more welcoming – wouldn’t you agree?!
For the side table, I grabbed a chicken wire vase and loaded it up with cotton bulbs (?) and pinecones.
Swinging over to the corner, I reused last year’s DIY barnwood Christmas tree. I put it together with nails, string lights and lots of leftover tulle from our wedding!
And because you can never have too much galvanized anything, it’s sitting in our go-to galvanized tub, filled with birch logs.
On the door, I added two mini Christmas trees to the tall, black vases and strung a small string of Christmas lights around them.
And to top it all off, I hung a simple black wreath with a few sprigs of greenery and a nice burlap bow!
Simple. Festive. Rustic.

Love your porch! It is perfect for the holidays! It was fun touring with you this week!
Thank you, Lindsay!
Kelly, I love your rustic porch! The addition of the snow is perfect (and makes me very jealous!!) You have made it so cozy and inviting (despite the house wrap ;), lol)
The snow is the finishing touch on your charming rustic porch–no snow here, in Texas! Excited to be joining the tour with you! Blessings, Cecilia @My Thrift Store Addiction
I adore your cute rustic porch! At least half the Christmas photos of when I was a kid had some sort of construction going on in the background, so I’m pretty much used to the “in-process” look! It reminds me of home!
Your rustic porch is charming and snow on the ground is the perfect touch for Christmas.
Pretty porch! And I especially like the galvanized bucket filled with pine and your simple wreath.
I love your humor. The truth is, it will never be perfect! LOL. Those pups are adorable. It was fun “hopping” with you!
Oh, I love your country nest!!! I just love the use of all the natural elements with the cozy plaids. We actually got snow and ice in SC this weekend. It’s beautiful with the twinkling lights. Merry Christmas!
