It’s day 27 of the 31 Days of Mindfulness Challenge and today’s task is to notice the little things in life.

Day 27: Notice the Little Things in Life

Brett and I went to a wedding last night and it got me to thinking about today’s challenge. So often, especially when it comes to a big event like a wedding, we spend countless energy waiting in anticipation. We’re wishing for whatever ‘it’ is to come. Then ‘it’s’ here and the next thing we know, ‘it’ has passed and we’re on to waiting for the next thing. 

If we aren’t careful, an entire week or month or year can go by and all we did was wait for the next big thing. 

What if. 

What if instead we got excited about the in between moments instead? We enjoyed the little nuances throughout the day as much as the things we label as ‘big.’ 

Today, think about those little things – notice the subtleties throughout your day and remember that our days are made up of all these “little” things.
