What better way to toast the last day of 12 Days of Craftsmas than with Crandberry Vanilla Almond Infused Vodka?
About ten years ago, my grandma started a tradition of giving everyone a bottle of homemade cordial, with a different flavor every year. Naturally, we teased her about making hooch in her bathtub and created this wild story about how she was supplying all the seniors in her building with booze. She would just laugh it off with this little twinkle in her eye, and tell us that we better return the bottle when we’re done or else we weren’t getting any next year.
She stopped doing this a couple years ago when it got to be too much, so I decided there was no time like the present to channel her bootleggin’ stint and make some alcohol of my own.
The Supplies
- Vodka
- Cranberries
- Apple
- Almonds
- Almond extract
- Vanilla extract
- Fabric [optional]
- Twine [optional]
- Merry Christmas and Product tags [PDF available below]
The Process
Step one. Pour two cups of vodka into a coverable container – I used a glass jar
Step two. Add one cup cranberries, 1 cut up apple, ½ cup almonds, one teaspoon almond extract and two teaspoons vanilla.
Step three. Stir all the ingredients together, cover and set in the refrigerator.
Step four. Let the mixture sit – up to five days, but a minimum of two – stirring once per day.
Step five. Using a strainer, pour the vodka into the mason jar.
Step six [optional]. Cover the mason jar with fabric and secure with twine. Add the Merry Christmas tag and Infused Vodka tag.

I’m not much of an expert on alcoholic drinks, but the cranapple almond sounds like a delicious flavor!
It is so good, Lora, especially as a spritzer mixed with 7up or Sprite! 🙂
Yummy! I’m going to have to make this for Christmas!
You definitely need to – it’s delicious 🙂 🙂
Hi I’m trying out this recipe and mine is turning out to be really dark and it’s only day 2. Is it ok that it’s getting this dark also that the apples are growing so much.
Apples are browning so much whoops!
Hey Autumn! I would imagine it’s the length of time that the ingredients have been sitting together. I know after keeping ours in the fridge for the winter the color darkened quite a bit. From a presentation perspective, you could drain out the fruit and then put in fresh options right before gifting. Good luck!
