I love open-style shelving, especially in kitchens. I love that it makes the space seem lighter and more inviting. I love that it lets me be a little more creative, and I love that I get to show off all the pretty dishes I pick up at thrift stores and on clearance.
At first, it can be a little weird to have it all out in the open, especially if you’re used to throwing your things in a cupboard and quickly closing the door. When it’s an open concept, you have to be a little more strategic and organized, but it’s so worth it!
If you’re thinking of making the leap but aren’t sure where to start, we’ve rounded up some great decor items and inspiration pictures to give you some ideas on how to decorate open shelving in your own kitchen.

What do all of these gorgeous kitchens have in common? White dishes, varying height and fun statement pieces to add a little something-something to the shelf. I’ve rounded up a few key pieces for your open-style kitchen shelving.
