How to Throw Together a
Simple & Easy Hot Cocoa Bar
We’re past the halfway mark of the 12 Days of Christmas – can you believe it? I hope you’re getting some great holiday ideas to make your season even brighter 🙂
Here in Minnesota, we just had our first real snowfall, so it’s officially time to start cozying up with chunky blankets, warm sweats and of course, hot chocolate.
I’ve always been a hot chocolate fan. There’s just something about the rich and creamy taste that warms my heart… or maybe that’s the irish whiskey we throw in – who knows?! 😉
Putting together a bar for hot chocolate is not something I was familiar with, but have since gladly jumped on board. An entire bar dedicated to candies and sweets and hot chocolate goodies? Yes, please!
I knew I wanted something simple and easy to share, because who has the time to put an elaborate spread out, especially during the holiday season?!
The only ‘DIY’ I created, which took all of five minutes, were peppermint chocolate dipped plastic spoons. I sacraficed one for quality control purposes and it was absolutely delicious. Perhaps one of the best five minute decisions I’ve made in quite awhile 🙂
To add even more peppermint goodness to your cocoa, pick up a few fancy-looking mercury glass containers and stuff them to the brim with candy canes. They make the best stir sticks and add look extra festive.
On the other side of the spoons, I put white and milk chocolate chips in metal clasp containers, in case the cocoa drinkers want to go au natural and mix up their own drink from scratch. For the less ambitious folk, I put out a pre-made cocoa mix, also in a clasped jar.
The tiered tray has all your other necessities like mugs, cookies and the cocoa staple – marshmallows.
To tie the table together, I made a faux flower boquet of natural greenery and one cranberry stem for a pop of color.
Now off to really make sure those chocolate covered spoons are still tasting up to par 😉

Thank you so much, Jenny!
Everything looks so neat and organized, I really like the three tier stand you have and how you utilized it. It looks wonderful and I love Irish whiskey in coffee, so I bet its wonderful.
Thanks, Leanna! Glad to hear you’re on the Irish Whiskey train, too 🙂
Your cocoa bar is perfect! I love that tiered tray and the little pops of red!
Thank you, Amanda!
I love how you displayed all of the makings for a hot cocoa bar. It has it all and looks so pretty.
Thank you so much!!
