Rustic Guest Bedroom Holiday Decor Tour
The guest bedroom is one of my favorite spots on the house to decorate. It may have something to do with the fact that it’s one of the only rooms in the house that’s actually completed… but I think it has more to do with the idea that this space is so cozy and homey.
Last year I picked up a few plain garlands on clearance and I have to tell you, I had so much fun adding greenery to anything and everything.
Swirling and twirling a garland around a shelf or bed post or window frame is Christmas in an instant.
The other holiday decor trick that I got on board with in our guest bedroom? Putting Christmas trees all over.
Since I have quite the bucket/basket/bin collection, I was able to pull a few containers from my stash for tree holders. I loaded them up with Christmas ornaments or pinecones and called it a day.
And just in case you didn’t know, the dollar store has Christmas trees and ornaments. I would highly recommend starting there for all your holiday decor needs… because money is better spent on presents, amiright!? 🙂
Although I may just have to contradict myself because the one good worthwhile investment, especially if you live in Minnesota? Flannel sheets.
I picked these up a few years ago at Target and they’ve been a holiday staple ever since. We know it’s Christmas when these babies get taken out – they’re warm, cozy and oh-so-festive.
And the perfect pairing for flannel sheets? Flannel throw pillows.
A few weeks ago, I spent an entire day making pillow covers from fabric I already had on hand and I can already tell it was well worth the time.
To top it all off and add a nice welcoming touch, I put out a tray with dried eucalyptus, a giant mug, a tea box and some reading materials!
