Gluten Free Oreo and Cream Cheese Truffles
Every December, since before I can even remember, the ladies in our family get together to bake cookies and drink wine.
Over the years, it’s morphed into more of a time to catch up on the latest family happenings, drink wine and exchange the cookies that have already been made the week preceeding the get-together.
When my sister, mom and I were diagnosed with Celiac Disease in March of 2010, we had a slight panic that our annual Christmas Cookie Gathering would forever be changed. Since most bake goods at that time tasted like a piece of cardboard, we didn’t have much hope.
Slowly, but surely, we’ve been able to adapt nearly all of our family favorites to meet our dietary needs. In fact, these gluten free oreo and cream cheese truffles were one of the first “cookies” we tested out and they’ve been a staple every year since.
Not only do they almost taste like the real thing, but they’re so damn easy to make. I tend to stray away from anything baking-related and I can knock these babies out in a few hours.
If you, or anyone you know, has to eat gluten free, show them some love with these ah-mazing oreo truffles.
Gluten free oreo and cream cheese truffle recipe
- One package gluten free oreos
- One package cream cheese
- 12 oz. chocolate chips
- Toppings, such as white chocolate, candy cane pieces or oreo crumbles
Take out the cream cheese to soften.
Using a food processor, chop up the gluten free oreos.
Using a mixer, whip together the oreo crumbles and cream cheese.
Roll the mixtue into 1-inch balls and refrigerate. If you want to accelerate the process, throw them in the freezer instead.
Once the oreo-cream cheese balls are firm, melt the chocolate chips.
Using a spoon, dip the balls into the melted chocolate chips, making sure it’s entirely covered.
Place on a sheet of wax paper.
Once all the balls are covered, refrigerate until hard.
If you’re feeling extra adventurous, you can top your truffles with chocolate, oreo crumbles or candy cane pieces. With that being said, they’re just as delicious plain 🙂

If you love chocolate and oreos, they definitely won’t disappoint!
I love the original version of these treats. My daughter is gluten-free. Whenever I go to Trader Joe’s I stock up on their GF oreos because they are her favorite, I need to make these for her!
Trader Joe’s has the best gluten free Oreos!! You definitely need to give these a shot; she’s going to love them!
