Friday Nesting 1/12

Friday Nesting· Lifestyle

13 Jan

Friday Story.

This week we updated you on the latest bathroom happenings and I shared Brett’s handwork on Instagram in the form of the vanity that he is building for us [see below]. It’s beautiful is an understatement and I cannot wait to put that baby in its rightful spot in the bathroom.

What Brett may kill me for telling you, but I think it’s worth noting, it that this piece was his second try. The first one, although equally as beautiful, wasn’t up to his standards and he wanted to give it another shot. It was Monday night, he comes upstairs and says, “I think I am going to start over.” “What? Why?!” I reply, a bit exasperated. “Because it’s not square and it’s going to bother every time I see it if I don’t do it right.”

I think this just goes to show that in home renovation, you aren’t always going to get it right the first time. And if you finish something and it’s not what you wanted or it doesn’t look quite right, it’s perfectly okay to start over.

Is it frustrating as hell to know that have to start from square one? Absolutely.

But the next time around you’re [hopefully] not going to make the same mistakes and you’ll [hopefully] have a better handle on what you want to do differently.

Friday Inspiration.

This bedding setup from ChrisLovesJulia and this one from Emily Henderson are soooo lovely. I am totally digging the blue striped bedspreads and the textured pillows and blankets.

NewlyWoodwards post about staying sane in your marriage throughout a home renovation. They’ve had their fair share of renovations and offer up a few words of advice for getting through the hard parts without killing each other.

Friday Finds.

Continuing with the bedroom trend, I’ve found a few bedspreads and comforters and quilts and pillows that have me rethinking our current bedding situation.

Friday Cuteness.

These pups absolutely love the snow. As does Brett. I seem to be the only one in the house that’s ready for 80 degrees and sunny.

Enjoy the weekend, friends!

All our best,
