Friday story time.

In case you missed it on Instagram, I now know how to use a miter saw. This is a big deal, because as Brett so nice pointed out, “Kell, I don’t know… you have cut yourself with a butter knife.”

Since Brett travels for work, when he’s home, it’s usually a mad dash to finish things around the house and I feel bad asking him to cut wood for me. So, about two months ago I started asking him if he could teach me how to use the saw.

It was over the phone while he was away and he’s like, “Yea, of course I’ll teach you. Just don’t do anything until I get home.”

Of course, when he actually got home, he just so happened to forget about
it and when I asked again, he says, “Oh, just tell me what you need and I’ll cut it really quick.”

Well played my friend, well played.

Fast forward to last weekend and I cornered him in the basement and demanded that he teach me how to use the saw. He made his completely inappropriate (but perhaps true) about the butter knife and finally caved.

He ended up leaving for work on Sunday, so on Monday I decided to try this whole saw thing by myself. As I am getting all the boards ready, I look up and see Moxie and Gunner sitting patiently, watching me with intense curiosity. Obviously Brett got to them too. Even the pups don’t trust me with a saw.

With that said, I am happy to report that I still have all ten digits and no blood was shed.

What are we making? You’ll just have to wait and see, but I’ll give you a hint – it’s for the One Room Challenge that started this week!

Friday inspiration.

Did you know target has some great farmhouse décor? Well, in case you’ve been living in a cave, I am here to tell you they do and it’s amazing. Because everything Target is amazing and like most Target-lovers, I spend hours in their dollar section and can walk into the store with two items on my list and walk out three hours later with a cart full of crap that I didn’t even know I needed. But seriously, check out these goodies because they really got their ‘A’ game on this time.

Friday cuteness.

Usually if Gunner is on the bed, then Moxie throws a fit and starts nipping at his face, so this was a very, very rare moment of peace between these two. Aren’t they just the cutest?

Enjoy the weekend, friends!

All our best,
